What does P.O.S.H. mean?
PORT OUT STARBOARD HOME. P.O.S.H. refers to the shadiest and most expensive cabins on elegant ships sailing from England to India in the glory days of cruising. Those who could afford the cabins that faced PORT on the way OUT and STARBOARD on the way HOME were called P.O.S.H. - a term we use today to mean ?upscale.?
 
What does the name Re-Sails mean?
Our original product line featured only bags and jackets made from actual old sails ? or recycled sails. So, Re-Sails refers to items made from actual old sails. We have since expanded the line to include products that are made in an actual working sail loft - using the exact materials that sails are made from (Dacron, Kevlar, marine grade webbing, thread, etc . .) and using the same techniques (zig-zag stitching, sail numbers, etc . .).
 
Are your products waterproof?
Outerwear and bags are made with waterproof fabrics and designed with extra features to keep water out.

All of our jackets, vests and bags are made with resin-coated Dacron sailcloth (or laminated Kevlar/Mylar) and urethane-coated nylon. The nylon also has a UV sunscreen which keeps the fabric from fading or degrading in the sun.

The inside seams on the bags are covered with a nylon ribbon. The duffels have a zipper-flap cover which keeps spray and splash from entering through the zipper.
 
Are the products machine-washable?
Almost all the products can be machine-washed (warm water, gentle cycle) and should be air dried to maintain the waterproof coating on the fabric.
 
What is your return/exchange policy? All sales are final, exchanges must be post marked within 14 days (beginning on the day we shipped the order to you). Please use a method of shipping that requires a signature upon delivery.

Please allow two weeks (beginning on the day we sign for your return) for processing your credit.

Processing time for exchanges varies depending on current inventory. If the item you prefer is in stock, we usually can ship to you within 48 hours. If the item is backordered we will contact you with a delivery date.
 
Do your products have a warranty?
Yes. We guarantee all materials and workmanship for 1 year. This guarantee covers any defects in materials or workmanship, but does not cover normal wear and tear, Zippers are not quaranteed, airline mishandling, direct punctures, or anything of that nature.

Please return the item to us and we will either repair or exchange the item depending on the nature of the damage. We will ship the repaired item back to you. Return shipping fees will be charged to the credit card account on file.
 
What guarantee do you offer?
We offer a 1 year guarantee on materials and workmanship. This does not include damage to zippers from overstuffing or from airline mishandling, sharp objects puncturing the fabric, excessive wear and tear, etc . . . . Our products are exceptionally well-made. The workmanship and fabrics are top-quality and we want you to feel confident when purchasing our products.
 
Where are the products made?
We design and manufacture our products in a sail loft in Newport, RI using the same materials, thread, webbing and machinery that sails are made with.
